Project Manager

Status Electrical Corporation is taking applications for the position of Project Manager for commercial electrical projects in the Lower Mainland of BC.

Due to our continued success we are adding to our team. As a key member of our management team you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and reporting on all aspects of project related activities with particular emphasis on project schedules and budget.

You have the unique ability to drive forward a project on time and on budget, in spite of the variety of hurdles and obstacles that come with any construction project.

Your scope of responsibility will include (but is not limited to) the following:

  1. Preparing project bids and determining time frame, budget, scope of work, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects
  2. Planning, directing, and coordinating activities of projects to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished on time and on budget
  3. Establishing a work plan and staffing for each phase of a project, and arranging recruitment or assignment of project personnel
  4. Reviewing status reports prepared by project personnel, and modifying schedules or plans as required
  5. Conferring with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems
  6. Developing, promoting, and maintaining positive relationships with customers, vendors, general contractors, architects, and other project stakeholders
  7. Securing and managing sub-contractors (if required)
    Preparing project reports for management, clients, or others

Qualifications Required:

  • Canadian Red Seal Journeyman Electrical Certification
  • FSR A or B Certificate
  • Minimum five years relevant Canadian Project Management experience
  • Experience in determining construction labour productivity factors, wage rates, indirect field costs, and project adjustment factors
  • Proven organizational and management skills, including the ability to prioritize
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all stakeholders
  • Strong computer skills including experience with Accubid
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
